According to sources of systematic scientific results of the study diseases valerian (Valeriana officinalis L.), symptoms and dangers of modern methods of its limitations Among the dominant disease of medicinal plants in the territory of Ukraine allocated five groups most harmful: leaf spot, root rot, powdery mildew, rust and viral diseases. Established that the strong development of plant diseases could lose up to 80% of the leaf surface. In recent years there has been a steady trend to an increase in viral diseases with double damage them: causing significant yield reduction due to suppressed development of affected plants, and result in significant changes in the content and composition of biologically active substances, which reduces the value of pharmaceutical raw materials. Typical symptoms manifestation of viral diseases in valerian is dwarfism, the reduction stems, mild mosaic, reducing the number and size of leaves. Among fungal diseases for Ukraine is widespread pathogen Sclerotinia sclerotiorum Libertiana Fuck. The fungus causes rotting of the roots. The disease often appears on the plants of the second and third years of vegetation. In the first year largest vegetation valerian root rot are harmfulness. In some years, attacks against them may reach 70%. The microflora seeds presented as a wide spectrum of pathogenic fungi and saprophytes, which together under adverse conditions dramatically worsen crop quality. Among the pathogens were recorded fungi of the genus Fusarium frequency distribution of 4-6%, Botrytis (2-3%), Alternaria (4-5%). Among the identified saprophytes fungi belonging to the genera Mucor, Penicillium, Rhizoctonia, distribution of which ranges from 22 to 60%. Valerian amazed rust fungus Uromyces valerianae Winter, it is monoecious obligate parasite. The greatest harm to plants rust has during the formation of the fruit. The development of the disease can last until late September. With the strong development of the disease leaves turn brown and dry up. Harmfulness rust disease is in violation of photosynthesis, reducing the hardiness and drought resistance of plants. Great harmfulness in the economic sense with powdery disease pathogen is a fungus which Erysiphe cichoracearum f. valerianae. Harmfulness mildew and consists of a large crop losses raw seeds, reduction of pharmacologically active substances, and sometimes complete loss of crops. The common disease in valerian cause spotting fungi Ramularia valerianae Sacc. Ramulyarioz appears on the leaves in a large oblong or round spots. Taking into consideration the environmental safety of the environment, preferred methods of biological protection, organizational, economic and, as noted above, farming practices, implementation in the production of plastic and environmentally immune varieties and populations of medicinal plants.
